Givenchy Fall 2011 Couture | Paris Haute Couture

The embellished detailing on this one reminds me of coral

Loving this silhouette with the cut out panels at the front & exposed back

Givenchy Fall 2011 Couture | Paris Haute Couture

Givenchy's latest couture collection by Riccardo Tisci is absolutely stunning! The collection of ivory & nude gowns are elegant & sophisticated, yet edgy. I love all the textures - the lace, feathers, silk tulle & tassels (I think I have a thing for tassels!! - If you saw my wardrobe & a few pieces in my room you would understand). There is almost something Laga Gaga-esque about them with the bodysuits under the sheer outer layers. I can't wait to see these on the red carpet!

Swimsuit Sensation - Adriana Degreas | Sao Paulo Fashion Week

One morning, having a lazy breakfast while watching FTV (joy of being a student), I came across this fabulous Brazilian swimsuit designer Adriana Degreas. My jaw dropped as I watched these fantastic creations come down the Sao Paulo Fashion Week runway. The silhouettes are incredibly flattering, complete with high-waisted numbers and sheer & cover-ups. The colour palette is incredibly sophisticated and chic consisting of shades of nude, black and silver. And there are a variety of textures too - silky lycra, sequins, sheer panels and ruffles, not to mention that fantastic black embroidery on the nude number above.

Wow! Loving these cover-ups.

 Stunning!

Obsession: Draping

I've been meaning to do a post on draping for a while now. It's one of my favourite trends of the moment and gives any outfit that goddess factor, whether casual or when going for something more glam. I seemed to be obsessed with draped skirts and dresses at the moment. I've actually had a grey dress for a couple of years now, which has some lovely draping on it. I've gotten so much wear out of it and plenty of complements on it. I'm looking to add a couple of other pieces, perhaps a skirt to wear during the day and an evening dress.

Here are some of my fav draping looks I've come across:

Hilary Rhoda in Harper's Bazaar UK July 2010

Dree Hemingway
Awesome casual look!

Julia Restoin-Roitfeld in an Alexander McQueen Dress with draping detail

Balenciaga RTW Fall 2009

Alice + Olivia
I am in love with these dresses. I can't decide whether I like the one shoulder or long sleeve more, or even which colour I prefer.
