I'm back!

I can't believe I haven't blogged in 12 days! Things have been absolutely crazy. I've had a truckload of uni assignments which I've now finally completed. But the main source of stress was definitely losing the keys to my VW Golf, and having to wait for a week for new set to arrive from Germany. A word of advice to all who only have 1 key to their car - get another straight away! You never know what may happen to that one key, and having an spare will save you from the strife of having to call roadside assistance, tow truck companies, councils and all the other "fun" I've had to experience over the last week and a half. On the bright side, I now know that the chances of my car being stolen are so minimal due to those high tech anti theft systems common to German cars and I now have 2 keys. Ahh yes a silver lining... not sure if it was worth all the stress though!

Thankfully, even though I may have not had time to post anything myself, I still had a little time amongst it all to browse through some excellent material on blogs, magazines etc and get some inspiration. Here are some things I'm loving at the moment.

Isabel Lucas in Tourism Victoria Ad:
This ad is so beautiful. The Tourism Victoria ads always are. Isabel Lucas is stunning in a very down-to-earth and natural way. The two looks, the white casual dress and the evening look, make her look amazing, despite being such different looks. The "double life" theme is fantastic.

Eat Pray Love Soundtrack:
Absolutely loved the film. I highly recommend it. And the soundtrack makes for great background music to a lazy, chilled out spring day.

Fav quote of the moment:

"You're only young once, but you can be immature forever."
- Germaine Geer

Current lusted-after look:
I am obsessed with this look at the moment. So perfect for a casual, yet chic spring look. I will be definitely teaming a knotted white shirt with a flowing maxi in the very near future.

The Wow factor:
Reminds me of one of Edward Scissor Hands creations. Ah-mazing!

Vogue Paris 90th Anniversary Masquerade Ball

I nearly hyperventilated when I saw the photos from Vogue Paris 90th Anniversary eyes wide-shut themed party. I think Vogue Paris Editor-in-Chief, Carine Roitfeld, may have even given Marie Antoinette a run for her money when it comes to putting on a glamourous party. I absolutely adore costume & theatrical inspired fashion so then its only natural I'd be an enormous fan of masquerade balls - I had one for my 17th Birthday... although not quite as glamorous as this one. The outfits at the anniversary were absolutely amazing. Men in exquisite tuxedos with zoro-like masks and women in costumes which took of a life of their own. Sheer dresses, revealing sleek black lingerie, seemed to be a favourite. Even Carine Roitfeld herself took on this trend at the mature age of 56! I wouldn't dare even at my age of 22. Natalia Nodianova left very little to the imagination with her very sheer gown and tiny lingerie ensemble. The cover of the 90th edition issue and editorial titled "Bal Masque" were equally as fabulous as the party.

That lace detailing! (Squeal in delight)

The Fashionable Cat Lady

I found this fashion editorial on dirty blonde by Emily of Wildfox's blog. Super cute! My fav is the second last with the cats playing the ukuleles, closely followed by the cat wearing goggles by the bathtub :) The kitties have definitely stolen the show in this one.

Sixties Icon Twiggy turns 60

On September 19, 2010 Twiggy turned 60! I've been meaning to do a post on her but it slipped my mind.... until I was going through my enormous collection of pics today. Here is a little tribute to iconic the British model, actress & singer.

Such a stunning, unique look! Perhaps a little too thin for my liking but that stare...amazing!

Wise Words

I love collecting quirky little sayings and inspiring quotes. Here are my favs of the moment:

There's just something about 11:11 which makes it more special than other times...

From Adele's "Chasing Pavements" song - Fantastic stuff!

I feel as though I can relate to this trying as I'm trying to figure out what I want to do when I graduate at the end of next year

Something I need to keep in mind...
If you saw how excited I get about the release of the latest Harper's Bazaar or Vogue you would understand why I love this quote so much
She is such a wise woman

And this one is from the fortune cookie I had last night. I think it's one of my favourite fortunes yet :)
