Such a stunning shoot - the harsh, yet beautiful background, the horses, the voluminous hair, cool cowboy hats and the dramatic clothes. My favourite pieces have to be the bodysuit in the first pic and the Swarovski encrusted Balmain dress in the second last pic.

Lusting Right Now

Having a bit of a play on Polyvore :)
Relaxed Glamour

Relaxed Glamour by Mademoisellestefani featuring Jeffrey Campbell shoes

I love drifting into wardrobe wonderland on Polyvore, putting together the perfect outfit, without having to worry about finding my size or sticking to a budget. Some of those collages on Polyvore are amazing, but right now I'm going for minimalistic. This set is based on my favourite look of the moment being a skirt and top or dress, teamed with a blazer and wedges. I have been wearing my Tony Bianco wedges to death. They are such a great alternative to painful, sky-scraper heels. I wanted to buy Jeffrey Campbell ones but I couldn't find a local retailer at the time and didn't want to run the risk of purchasing the wrong size. In saying that, I adore these furry ones above. Such a statement shoe! I want to eventually get one of these black Michael Kors fashion watches. I have a very classic IWC watch that my dad bought for me as a gift, but it would be nice to mix it up sometimes. I was trying to find the new ceramic Bulgari rings, but I could only find the original version. Although, I'm not a ring person (I tend to get annoyed by them and lose them when I take them off), I think the Bulgari ones are stunning. As for the Balenciaga's new perfume, I hope to be acquiring that very soon :)

Beware of artists

I'm loving these words by Queen Victoria!

Red & Leopard

Eniko Mihalik
Vogue Nippon August 2010

My favourite colour with my favourite print! I was crazy about leopard when I was about 10 years old - jacket, belt, bags, purses, scarves and hats. I still have some of it. I'm just as crazy for the colour red too - my car, diary, laptop case, coffee mugs etc. This shoot is so dramatic and glamourous - chateau, sports car, suspender-stockings, fur coats and leopard print. I was thinking about wearing red lips tonight for my dinner with friends out, rather than my usual nude. After seeing this shoot, red definitely wins :)

Aussie Stylist Christine Centenera

Love these leopard boots!

Awesome Coat

What I would do for that skirt.....

Trackies teamed with fur and heels?

Need inspiration for an outfit? Look no further than stylist & fashionista Christine Centenera. I love the way she mixes mini dresses, ankle boots and coats for the ultimate on-trend look, but in a way that makes it look effortless. With Christine, it's all about the clothes. Hair and make-up are kept simple in order to give the clothes full effect. I find her style very wearable in the scheme of what it worn to the fashion shows. I'm not sure if I could get away with wearing trackies with a fur coat and heels, but I  think she can get away with it. It's great to see an Australian magazine stylist in the spotlight at the shows.

Before a night out

Delaostia Campaign

This cool and edgy Argentinian label oozes with tough femininity and dishevelled elegance. I love the mixing of basic wardrobe pieces with attention-demanding boots, chain necklaces and studded accessories.  Team these with wavy hair, nude lips and black lined eyes to create a glamourous, yet still rather casual look.

Everyone calls me Coco. I'm mad for Chanel.

I have loved Chanel since I first lay eyes on a bottle of Chanel perfume on my grandmother's dressing table when I was about 4 years old. I remember the bottle looking so shinny and perfect.  With age I have come to love the label more and more. I can't walk past a Chanel store without going in to dream for a few moments. The label has a timeless elegance which transcends all age groups. My favourite Chanel items have to be the 2.55 quilted bag, the two-tone ballet slippers and pearl necklaces - they will never go out of style. It's fascinating how Chanel revamps these classic items in each season's collection.

The new Chanel short film by Karl Lagerfeld titled 'Remember Now' featuring the 2010/2011 Cruise collection is fantastic. Sure, the plot may not be anything to rave about - young, attractive model drawn to a much older man blah blah. As for the clothes, the location (Saint Tropez) and the drop top Rolls Royce Phantom - it couldn't be anymore glamourous and stylish! I just love it when Abbey Lee is mistaken for Jane Birkin and Magdalena is dancing around the guy on the motorcycle dressed as Brigitte Bardot. The clothes are to die for - the jewelled dresses, lace tops, fine feathers, and of course the chic Chanel tweed jacket.  The film made me want to run off to the South of France to enjoy the European Summer. Check it out below. Enjoy!

Recent Obsessions

After three very stressful weeks of studying and uni exams I am looking forward to posting lots of fabulous things on hôtel de mode. I find it very distracting blogging when I have uni work to get done because there are just so many fabulous blogs out there. I end up spending hours going from one to another in search of inspiration. I'm always on the look out for inspiration whether it be from people on the street, magazines, movies, music, blogs, my friends, anything really!

Here are some of my random obsessions at the moment:
Athletic gear - the on-trend, simplistic kind of course!
I'm not sure whether it's the FIFA World Cup, or my goal to get toned, which had led to my new obsession in finding the perfect workout gear. This ensemble is perhaps too revealing for an afternoon run, particularly in winter, but I'm on the hunt for something similar.

Happiness
Whenever I was incredibly bored studying for my law exams, I would look at this quote. I think that life is more enjoyable for those who don't think about everything too much. Thinking is good - thinking about your future, whether something makes or doesn't make you happy, whether you like something or agree with something, but then there is thinking too much which leads to becoming too critical and cynical. I think it is important  to just live sometimes, not think and enjoy being in the moment :)

Sneakers and Aviator Sunglasses
I love this pic! They both look uber cool. At the moment I'm all about being comfortable. For nights out I've swapped killer heels for wedge boots. After seeing this pic of the Olsen duo, I think I will be moving to incorporate sneakers into my outfits for the daytime. This pic shows that you don't need to compromise comfort for fashion. I'm thinking my sunglasses may need a update too. I usually treat myself to a new pair of designers sunnies every year or so. At the moment I have a very classic pair of Bulgari sunglasses, which I love, but I'm thinking I may acquire another edgier pair - maybe Tom Ford or Marc Jacobs aviators.

Movies
During my study break I spent quite a few nights at the movies - Wog Boy 2, The Back-Up Plan, Sex and the City 2 (Twice!).  Nothing like some popcorn, a choc-top,  a film, followed by a coffee for a great relaxing night out with some close friends.

Trenchcoats
Always chic and so versatile. You can't go past an iconic Burberry trench - I would love to own one! There is something incredibly sophisticated and elegant about a good trench. I have a black satin trench by Australian designer Madame Marie and another cream one my Sheike which I love wearing during the day or night with jeans, leggings or a dress.

Moroccan Adventure

Vogue Paris February 2010

My desert craze has continued with this fantastic shoot from Vogue Paris, set in Morocco, showcasing the creme de la creme of designers. The looks are all incredibly chic, and it's amazing how the stylist has mixed the designer's clothes with the traditional Middle Eastern sashes and patterned scarves. I particularly love the looks with the headscarves - such elegant looks, and the Prada beaded dress on the cover. That dress has appeared in so many fashion editorials and covers but I never tire from it. I'm guessing it will go down in fashion history as one of Prada's iconic pieces.  As for the location, I don't think they're are many places more exotic than Morocco. Over the past few years I've developed an obsession with Moroccan houses and furniture. It's great to see that they've shot in on the street of Morocco, the real Morocco, rather than just sticking to the hotels and resorts.
