Kate The Great

Kate Moss

Harper's Bazaar US March 2010

Words cannot convey just how fabulous Kate Moss' personal style is. Whether she is walking down the streets of London in an edgy ensemble or dressed up in a luxe tuxedo jacket, finished off with diamonds, she looks effortlessly stunning. Kate never disappoints.

Ksubi Spring/Summer 2010

Ksubi Spring/Summer 2010 at Rosemount Fashion Week

I've never really been a fan of Ksubi until this collection. Maybe because I'm not a big jeans fan as I feel more comfortable in tights or pants. However, I do own a fabulous pair of   Ksubi lycra tights with industrial zippers down the back of the leg, which have become a wardrobe favourite of mine. They are so Lady Gaga....in a good way of course. Perhaps, this show caught my attention because Bambi was one of the models strutting down the runway. She is definitely one of my fav Aussie models at the moment. This collection is exactly the sort of thing I'm into at the moment, which I would describe as "tough glamour". I'm very much a fan of monochrome, bodysuits and black suede ankle wedge boots (I can't stop wearing mine!) As for jeans, I haven't worn white jeans in years, but I think they may the perfect staple piece this summer. Love the straight hair, black eyes and nude lips too - a look you can't go wrong with for a night out.

Model Muse: Elisa Sednaoui

Elisa Sednaoui is an Italian model/actress. She appeared in Karl Lagerfeld's short firm "Remember Now" which I posted on my blog last month. She is so naturally beautiful and has amazing personal style and a cool and quirky personality - check out the video below.  There is something very laid back and down to earth about her about her. She is incredibly mature, confident and at ease with herself for a 22 year old. And her godfather is Christian Louboutin! Imagine all the shoes she receives as gifts.

Wise Words

Utility Chic

Lily Donaldson

Lily's outfit is perfection. It's the perfect blend of femininity and grunge. A rather simple look combining ankle boots, shinny skinny leg pants, a white t, black fur, a chunky metal neckpiece and utility coat to create the ultimate streetwear look. Her sleek tied back hair and clean makeup complements the look so well. Of late, I've found myself adding a grunge element to an otherwise polished look, may it be a shaggy fur, worn boots, metal chains or a utility coat or shirt. This pic has inspired me to further embrace utility pieces in a chic way :)

Hanging out with the boys

Pull & Bear Spring/Summer 2010

Lovely, relaxed styling. The black & white striped top in the last pic is so chic.

Ellery Spring/Summer 2010

Love love love the satin flares in the first pic. Skinny jeans & pants have had the stage for a while now so it's nice to have a change, especially when change comes in the form of neutral satin flares. The ankle boots are amazing too. I'm a big fan of suede ankle boots at the moment. I particularly like the grey ones with the embellished toes.

Back to Uni

Georgia May Jagger
Vogue China July 2010

My short uni winter holiday has come to an end. Although I'm not exactly thrilled to be back in class, the shopping trips to Darlinghurst, Paddington and Surry Hills in my breaks aren't bad. I've found a few items to add to my wish list from Hussy, Aje, Ellery and of course some vintage pieces.

Daria Werbowy in Oroton Spring/ Summer 2010 Campaign

Daria Werbowy
Photographed by David Mandelberg
Oroton Spring/ Summer 2010 Campaign
Fashion Gone Rogue
Watch the video for the campaign here.

It's amazing to see a model of Daria's calibre as the face of iconic Australian handbag and accessories luxe label, Oroton. The brand has been around since 1938 and has recently been revamped to appeal to the international market, as well as incorporating  fashion-forward designs. While I still find the bags a little too conservative or corporate-like for myself, I'm a big fan of Oroton's signature silk scarfs (they work well all year around) and their jewellery, particularly the leather cuffs. This campaign is my favourite yet, set in Palm Springs, and adopting neutral palette. Black accessories have been very popular for the last couple of seasons so it's nice to see a move back to neutrals and browns. My favourite look is the 2nd pic - I love the brown satchel, the shirt dress and the shoes. Unfortunately, only the bag will be available from Oroton :( Palm Springs, the golf and spa capital of the world, makes the perfect location for a photoshoot with it's uber cool retro architecture, turquoise water pools, desert inspired landscaping and clear blue skies. I hope to visit this amazing place one day!

The Fall Collections

Tasha Tilberg
Photographed by Michel Comte
Harper's Bazaar UK August 2010

This shoot is simply stunning! It presents the trends of Fall so well - black lace, shearling and scarlet red. The backdrop is as equally beautiful as the clothes and accessories. There's something very Ivy about it (Nightspot in Sydney), combining a classic look, with a hint of quirkiness. Those purple orchids are to die for. Truly inspiring.
