Weekend Inspiration

Finally the weekend is here! After a stressful week of uni & assignments I can finally relax.  It's a beautiful sunny Sydney spring day. Ooo that's alliteration :) The last couple of days I've really been into the luxe hippy/boho look - tie dye, bangles, turquoise stone jewellery, long flowing maxi dresses & skirts, loose linen pants, & flowing hair. I'm really trying to move away from the all-black look and going for something more casual. This spring/summer is all about understated glamour for me.

Tom Ford Private Blend Lip Color Collection

It's hard not to want all twelve shades of Tom Ford's Private Blend Lip Color. Since the first time I saw them I decided I had to get at least one...maybe two :) I have the ad (pic above) perched above my desk because I love it so much. How can one resist? Perfect, bright colours and irresistible stylish packaging by fashionisto Tom Ford. Since I'm a fan of nude coloured lips for both night and day, and I love the odd red lipped night out, I've narrowed it down to Blush Nude (just enough pink to stop you looking washed out) and True Coral (perfect for a hot summer night).

Fashion Gone Rogue

I just love this. Natasha & Baptiste make such a beautiful couple. Despite wearing the finest of couture and the presence of a Rolls Royce Phantom, the shoot doesn't scream pretentious as one may expect. Just an exceptionally beautiful couple having a romantic night out in the gorgeous city streets of Paris. The black and white makes it look oh so elegant. The shoot reminds me of Karl Lagerfeld short film for Chanel "Remember Now".

Reopening of Soho Chanel Store

As Mademoiselle Coco once said, "In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different". Well Chanel has done just that with the reopening of its Soho store. The label known for its refined style, tweed coats, two-tone ballet flats and 2.55 quilted bags has gone for the rock chic look - lots of leather, lace and transferable tats. Not to mention an uber cool following of A-Listers including Diane Kruger, Abbey Lee, Natasha Poly, Alexa Chung, Erin Wasson and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld. Mr Lagerfeld has done it again! A creepy, yet incredibly talented man.

Style Inspiration: Gillian Zinser of 90210

This girl has such cool style. I'd describe it as a mix of surfer girl meets boho meets rock. Although it's probably not a style I would usually go for, I'm finding myself drown to casual summer looks, rather than my usual more polished look. When she first made her appearance of as Ivy on 90210 I wasn't too keen on her but she has definitely grown on me, especially now she has toned down the tom boy act. She looked amazing in the season 3 premiere, dressed in the outfit above. I'm thinking denim shorts, a bikini top and an open shirt may be the perfect summer festival outfit. I'm hopefully attending Summerfieldayza 2011 so I'm on the lookout for festival outfit inspiration.
